Workshop was held at Quality Hotel Shah Alam Malaysia, 13th December 2011. The topic of this workshop was Ocean Observation and Prediction whichdivided into two sessions:
First session was “Acoustic Observation of Waves, Currents, and Sediment Transports: Theoretical Background and Data Interpretation” with Dr. rer. nat. Poerbandono as a speaker. He is an expert in hydrographic science and engineering research division at Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia.
Second session was “Now-casting of Tides, Waves, and Currents: Concept and Implementation” with Prof. Dr. Roberto Mayerle as a speaker. He is an expert in Sustainable management of coastal living resources, Research Department at University of Kiel, Germany.
Third session was “Assessment of Tidal Prism Impacts on Speed and Sound” with Dr. Othman bin Mohd Yusof as a speaker. He is an expert in physic, solar thermal, and photovoltaic system,Pensyarah Surveying dan Geomatics UITM, Selangor Malaysia.
Total 28 participants from several universities, private companies, and government instititions of Malaysia and Indonesia attanded this event. To build the cooperation between participant companies was one of the purpose of this event which considered succeed.
