Meteorological and oceanographic information is primary to support safe and efficient marine operation and design of coastal and offshore construction. In recent years, devices and methods have advanced to enable meteorological and oceanographic information with more reliable quality. As experienced metocean company in marine sea state prediction, we are happy to share the new feature in our website, a Free 3-hourly wind forecast. This service is available around Indonesia with up to 3 days ahead forecast.

With this feature, you can instantly have a regional forecast preview of wind speed and wind direction in the desired area, directly from our website. The data used in this map is from the Global Forecasting System (GFS) of the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) with 0.5 o x0.5o spatial resolution. NCEP-GFS is output from global model, it is possible that the local influence is not included in the model. Thus, if you need finer data resolution, we encourage to use our daily marine sea state (sample report) prediction service (up to 9ox9o km) with a better representation of the local influence.
The data used in our daily weather forecast service are produced by BW Geohydromatics’s forecast team, MarIs (Marine Information Services), in partnership with the Weather and Climate Prediction Laboratory (WCPL) of Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB). We follow and utilize the most sophisticated methods available in modern weather forecasting and risk management, including, but not limited to, using the globally best available numerical weather models, and high resolution atmospheric and wave modeling.
